Where We Came From

Red Nova Labs opened in 2009 as a web and mobile “think-tank” working on several different startup projects agency-style. With our range of skills in business development and software creation, we soon turned our services inward and operated as a startup accelerator. Our own founding team of entrepreneurs collaborated with others in the Kansas City metro to launch a breadth of platforms and apps. We made our greatest strides in rental and service property management, building marketing and operations platforms for self storage and related industries.

Where We Are Today

In 2012 Red Nova Labs decided to “reel it in” so we could turn our full focus to property management industries. The accelerator model was put on indefinite hold, and our other platforms were either sold or operate on autopilot. Where We’re Going

Red Nova Labs is led by serial entrepreneurs with passion for breeding startups. So while the majority of our energy and resources are dedicated to self storage and related businesses, we will continue to evaluate and consider meaningful partnerships as well as mentor, invest in and give back to the Midwest startup community. Most notably, we host a monthly happy hour called Venture Fridays—essentially a casual support group for the area’s startup ilk.
