With a degree in math, Alyssa Vanderpool loves numbers. She has always been attracted to accounting work and started out her career processing cash receipts and reconciling accounts for a large third-party warehouse company in Omaha, Nebraska. Alyssa spent five years at that company expanding her accounting knowledge and venturing into the operations side of the business through travel to the warehouses spread out across the US where she trained their office managers. From there, Alyssa was lucky enough to be hired by Dan Miller at his former company, AeroComm.

At AeroComm, Alyssa added purchasing to her resume and learned from Dan about the running of the day-to-day operations of an electronics manufacturer. After Dan and his partner sold AeroComm to Laird Technologies, Alyssa moved into the role of site manager at what was now Laird’s Lenexa, Kan., office. In 2010, Alyssa longed to be back in the small business world again and contacted Dan about opportunities at Red Nova Labs. As fortune would have it, he was looking for someone with her talents at the same time and she soon found herself working for this vibrant and energetic company.

As Operations Director, Alyssa is all about taking care of the employees, the customers and the company finances. She works closely with the owners to ensure the working environment is comfortable, functional and fun for the staff. Alyssa works with the sales department to take care of all customer questions and concerns. And she manages all aspects of the financial statements from invoicing customers to paying vendors to writing the budget.
