Marketing

“How are you going to market this?” I asked Joe Entrepreneur after being thoroughly impressed by a demo of his startup. “I’m going to hit the front page of Hacker News,” he replied, “then run some viral campaigns.” I sipped my coffee while waiting for him to say something meaningful...

…Actually that’s the beginning of a story we pulled off of The Startup Foundry; we like how it captures the precarious attitude many entrepreneurs have about the marketing component of a tech startup. They jump in with a great idea and monetization model, yet lacking a realistic marketing plan.

At Red Nova Labs, we are entrepreneurs who also support other entrepreneurs, helping them gear up ideas from alpha pipe-dream to growth phase. And that includes the critical communications component. We realize that marketing is not just a wing and a prayer; it takes a team of specialists coming together with one voice and one vision to pull off a great launch.

Design

Communicates the brand with a functional user-interface. And our sites look good. Really, really, ridiculously good.

Content

Clear messaging. Our writers cannot hold a beat, but their copy sings.

Search Engine Optimization

We build sites with code and content that is searchable. We’re pretty much soul mates with Google, Bing and Yahoo; we get them.

Social Media

Figure out the best channels to spread the word. Twitter, Google+, Facebook, Foursquare… We do not just use these mediums because they’re hip with the illogical millennial market; we use them strategically to build two-way relationships on a mass scale.

Video Production

We don’t just make cool videos. We have a plan. And that plan isn’t throwing a penny in a wishing well and hoping the video goes viral.

All five sub-departments of Red Nova Labs’ marketing blend like a perfectly mixed cocktail. We work together throughout the marketing process, because every aspect affects the other. For example, a video has a 50 times better chance landing on the first page of search results than any given text page, which means video should be a part of a strategic SEO plan.

That sort of holistic marketing and a team-based approach has made for far more success stories than failures at Red Nova Labs. We recognize that many startups fail because they follow the Joe Entrepreneur school of thought, “If I build it, they will come.”

Not us. What we do is tangible. It gets results.
