    Red Nova Labs was founded in 2009 as a web development and marketing agency as well as a technology think-tank for creating original, cutting-edge systems for web and mobile communications. The company is divided into two models: (1) service agency, and (2) product developer. Your mission as Sales Manager would be to sell web marketing subscriptions catering to professionals in varying industries. Two example sites include www.lenderstreet.com and www.storagefront.com.

    If you want an easy, entry-level 8-5 job where you can tinker on your FaceBook all day, stop reading. We're a high-energy, fast-growth startup with +/- 20 employees and we have no time for social loitering. Don't get us wrong—we have plenty of fun in the Marketing Department. But our motto is, "You have to work hard to play hard." We need someone who isn't too self-important to make coffee, write SEO content by the virtual ream, and pitch awesome attention-grabbing stories. (Our Editor also requests that you not put two spaces between sentences or use the term "widow" instead of "orphan" when referring to dangling lone words, even though our Veep argues otherwise.)

    The web has forever changed MarCom and PR. These days, "publicity" must be pursued online, and influential content (editorials, blog posts, guest blogging, ghost writing, etc.) can make or break a business. That's why we're seeking an ambitious person to help with web-based communications and inbound linkbuilding. If you have a passion for journalism as well as experience with social media and are looking to get your feet soaking wet in web, this is a great opp. You'll be researching topics, monitoring competition, helping create link-acquisition focused content, placing links, pitching ideas, writing stories, diving into social media communities, and reporting results regularly. To sum up, your mission would be to write and curate copy for varying professional industries.

    Required:

    • BS in a communications-related field (Journalism, News & Info, Strat Comm, MarCom, Marketing)

    Web development at Red Nova Labs is not for the lightly-skilled. As you'll see in Technologies, we develop our own programs as well as utilize open-source systems, to find and fit the best possible solution to each project. We're looking for an inventive, adaptive mind that can work within a team on a variety of inward- and outward-facing web applications. Commitment to a full-time, direct-hire role is required; local candidates only. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants the chance to grow and invent with a fresh, fast-paced company.

    Required:

    • 3-5 or more years experience with PHP or other similar server side scripting languages (like ASP/.NET, Java)
    • 3-5 or more years experience with front end development (HTML/CSS/Javascript)
    • A flexible attitude towards working with both open source and proprietary technology
    • An interest in both developing web solutions for clients as well as for in-house projects
    • Knowledge of object oriented programming methodologies (especially in PHP)
    • Familiarity with relevant W3C standards and best practices

    Appreciated:

    • Experience in Drupal, WordPress, osCommerce, phpBB and other open source apps / CMSs
    • DBA experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL or similar
    • Familiarity with Adobe CS Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash
    • Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux background (one at least, more is appreciated)
    • Understanding of source control methodologies (preferably SVN, but any/all are similar enough)
    • 2-4 years formal education in Computer Science
