About Marc

With a degree in Marketing and International Business from Kansas State, one might think that Marc Smith was ready to begin a career in sales and business development, but that's only one chapter in the story of this serial entrepreneur. Marc started answering the phone at his family’s vet clinic when he was 6 years old so that his grandparents could go out to dinner. (Now we all realize he never stopped!)

Soon, Marc was manning the concession stand at the county fair and selling light-bulbs a case at a time to pay for his Methodist Youth Fellowship ski-trips, then a car-hop at Sonic in 5th grade (yep, child labor laws are lax in a small town). Marc hauled hay through high school and bartended his way through college while selling corporate sponsorships on campus and running his own party rental business. Three careers later, this energy, aptitude and persistence for sales led him to join Red Nova Labs’ CEO Dan Miller’s original start-up (AeroComm) as the first non-VP employee, a role he chose to reprise with Red Nova Labs.

What Marc does at Red Nova Labs

As Director of Business Development, Marc “breaks trail” to build channels for our products, generate centers of influence, capture market share and ultimately drive revenue to Storagefront.com, WebWorks, WebReady and Trustselfstorage.com.
