We work and we play. Read about both here.

I applied to Red Nova Labs to fill a sales position for a text marketing platform called BuzzMeDo. I knew Red Nova Labs had several other products: StorageFront, WebWorks, Shop Fauna and Mystery Ball - but just a year ago I thought I was applying to work for a start-up who dabbled in several different areas and was always looking for the next "big idea." Red Nova Labs was (and still is) well-known within the Kansas City start-up community for hosting monthly get-togethers, Venture Fridays, and being a champion for all things tech and start-up culture. While at its core Red Nova Labs still fosters this working environment, we have come a long way in the past year and have graduated from start-up to legitimate business seeking to dominate an industry and market.

We no longer host monthly start-up events like Venture Friday. BuzzMeDo, Shop Fauna and Mystery Ball are no longer talked about at company meetings (I'm not even sure new employees know what these products are) and we have focused all resources and effort into building the best websites and web marketing platforms for the self storage industry. It has been a crazy year and a lot of fun to be a part of a team that has made changes and decisions to focus our energy and efforts into one industry where we truly felt we could make the biggest impact and change. We are no longer labeled as a "start-up" and have established ourselves as a leader in the market for self storage technology.

Red Nova Labs has graduated and evolved from a very small, creative team into a 40 person, collaborative powerhouse. We have established layers of management and defined standard operating procedures. We hold daily departmental meetings, weekly all-hands meetings and are constantly discussing ways to improve our products and internal procedures. Red Nova Labs has transformed into StorageAhead...not only in name, but also in focus and execution.

I am honored to be a part of the StorageAhead team and am excited to see what the future holds. I never spent one day selling BuzzMeDo...but I couldn't be happier and more excited about selling websites to help self storage owners.
