Red Nova Labs Supports Advanced High School Program, Blue Valley CAPS

KANSAS CITY, KS  – Red Nova Labs is proud to announce its support of the Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) of the Blue Valley School District.

CAPS invites juniors and seniors at the high school level to gain real world experience while taking college level classes 2.5 hours each day.  Course paths include engineering, bioscience, human services and business.  With classes such as “Technology Solutions: Gaming, Web and App Development,” these upperclassmen learn the skills essential to business in the 21st century before they are even considering their college major.

Many local corporations and startups alike are supporting and investing in a program that encourages intellectual capital to blossom and remain here in the Kansas City area.

As Red Nova Labs’ CMO, Carrie Royce, explains, “It’s important for Kansas City professionals to get involved and donate their time and expertise to arrangements like this. CAPS and similar programs are critical to feeding Kansas City's future startup pipeline with tech and entrepreneurial talent.”

Greg Teschner, Technology Solutions for the Digital Age Instructor for Blue Valley CAPS, agrees that a main component of the program is its partnership with local businesses to ensure the Kansas City area continues to flourish in the near future.  He adds, “We really push the internship process so that students develop relationships with the businesses here and become engrained in the community.”

Since the beginning of the partnership, Red Nova Labs has extended an open invitation to CAPS students to attend its monthly networking event called Venture Fridays, allowed students to tour the RNL facility, and provided guest speakers during class time. Teschner boasts that the partnership has already been a success in such a short time and is excited for what the future brings.
